"Biggi Veira (Birgir Thorarinsson) is a central figure in the Icelandic music scene. Since 1995, he has been the head producer of electronic band Gusgus and in more recent years has established a name for himself as an independent producer. His two latest projects, Gusgus' Arabian Horse and John Grant's Pale Green Ghosts, depict well his mastery of the electronic form in crafting big, deep and mesmerizing soundscapes that are though easily acceptable by the common listener. His unique style of mixing, whether it be electronic tracks, music with more traditional instruments, or a blend of both, has created his trademark sound where the listener feels intimately embraced by music and the vocals. Arabian Horse has been widely celebrated as Gusgus' best work to date and Pale Green Ghosts figured among the top 10 on most 2013 Best of lists, including the Guardian, Q, Uncut, Mojo and the Sunday Times, as well as being Rough Trade's album of the year. The album also got John Grant nominated at the Brit Awards for Best International Male Solo Artist."
