IO ECHO DEBUT ALBUM RELEASED

IAMSOUND RECORDS artist IO ECHO's brilliant debut album Ministry of Love is released in North America! The band has been working hard on this album for the past couple of years and we're excited to finally be able to release it. This has been a busy year for Io Echo, after touring with Bloc Party earlier this year, and the band currently being on the road with iconic '90s alt outfit Garbage. After the tour is done, they'll be playing Coachella in a couple of weeks, and then following that up with a tour supporting The Joy Formidable. We're also excited to announce that Io Echo will be playing Lollapalooza this year (August 2-4 in Chicago).
Ministry of Love, drawing from early '90s industrial, hazy pop and Eastern Classical orchestration (Japanese Koto and Chinese violin), has garnered accolades from NPR, Interview, Nylon, Stereogum, Paper, Dazed & Confused and many more. Be on the lookout for a video for the title track soon, and until then you can watch the video for "When The Lilies Die" HERE!

Trail of Dead Make Allan Raible’s Best Albums of 2011

1/9/2012

#4 ...AND YOU WILL KNOW US BY THE TRAIL OF DEAD – “TAO OF THE DEAD” (DELUXE EDITION)

…Trail of Dead aren’t anywhere near as scary as their name might have you believe. In fact, the veteran Austin, Texas band continues to raise the bar on their latest album, “Tao Of The Dead.” Members, Conrad Keeley and Jason Reece know their way around a catchy pop tune and yet they often make it as hard and as rocking as they can. Elements of psychedelia and prog-rock keep things interesting. I recommend the deluxe 2-disc edition of the record, which includes all the songs both as a suite and as separate pieces. “Weight Of The Sun” is indeed one of the very best songs of the year!

The album was produced by Worlds End producer client Chris "Frenchie Smith".

TED HUTT PRODUCES #2 ALBUM ON HUFFINGTON POST BEST ALBUMS 2011

12/6/2011

Top 11 Albums of 2011

1. Bon Iver -- Bon Iver: Like The Suburbs last year, this album has been played weekly, sometimes daily, ever since it came out.

2. The Horrible Crowes -- Elsie: Out of nowhere, this Gaslight Anthem (don't call it a) side project resonated with me so strongly. There's not a bad song on this.

3. Kanye West & Jay-Z -- Watch the Throne: Believe the hype.

4. Adele -- 21: If I had the hips and the attitude, I'd say "you go girl" to her and then snap my fingers.

5. Portugal. The Man -- In the Mountain In The Cloud: Whether it's "So American," a sort-of anti-anthem for the OWS crowd, or other standouts like "Senseless" and "Sleep Forever," it's a masterwork.

6. The Beastie Boys -- The Hot Sauce Committee Part 2: Their best album in a buttload of years.

7.Florence & The Machine -- Ceremonials: Picks up right where they left off with Lungs. Hauntingly beautiful stuff.

8. Arctic Monkeys -- Suck it and See: I wanted to love their last album, but couldn't. This was so easy to love. Their best since their first.

9. TV on the Radio -- Nine Types of Light: Not as good as their previous efforts, but this band deserves more mainstream love. Choice tracks: "Will Do" and "Repetition."

10.Lady Gaga -- Born this Way: This was an uneven album, but I really appreciate her talent and attempt at making the best album ever. It wasn't but had some great songs.

11.Nicki Minaj -- Pink Friday: Not everything works, but when it does, it does so well.
