Isabel Gracefield is an engineer largely based at RAK Studios, with recent work including ‘The Show’ from BRIT Award winner Tom Walker’s number one album ‘What A Time To Be Alive’, mix work for multi-million selling artist Emeli Sande, engineering for Dua Lipa and strings engineering for Paloma Faith, Sigma, and Stormzy. She was shortlisted for MPG Breakthrough Engineer Award 2020.
Isabel started her career in Nick Lowe’s Goldtop Studio before going in-house to engineer for Fraser T Smith, where she worked on multi-million selling Adele single ‘Set Fire To The Rain.’
After joining RAK she has worked with Radiohead, the XX, and Sam Smith. Recent engineering work includes Christine and The Queens, Emeli Sande (Kingdom Coming EP), Nerina Pallot (Stay Lucky LP), Walking On Cars, James Walsh, Bear’s Den and Tom Walker.
As a Pro Tools operator, she worked on Anna Calvi’s award-winning third album, Hunter, and for the sound mixes on Mission Impossible 6: Fallout. She also engineered Nothing But Thieves latest EP, including Radio 1’s Hottest Recrord “Forever and Ever More”.
Isabel co-writes, produces and mixes, and remains passionate about helping artists to achieve the results they are looking for regardless of genre.
Izzy represents exactly what being a great engineer is all about. She keeps the session flowing, nothing is ever a problem, and she works tirelessly to get really great sounds. This gives the producer and artist freedom to concentrate on other aspects of the recording whenever they need to and the whole session experience is much better for everyone involved.
She’s a fucking ninja who completely commits to my crazy work rate when I’m in an expensive studio and knows what sound I’m going for before I even say it out loud.
One of the most naturally talented engineers I’ve ever worked with.
